Millionaires buy beach homes; billionaires buy the whole beach. In June Larry Ellison bought 98% of the island of Lanai, complete with resorts, golf courses and 3200 residents. The rumored price is $500 Million. That sets a new bar for a luxury home purchase! The Las Vegas ultra luxury home market has also showed some recent signs of life with three homes being reported in escrow for over $7 Million.
