I accidently deleted today’s blog for Luxury Homes in Las Vegas that I had spent 10 minutes working on. Luckily, every now and then we’re fortunate that some “lucky” accidents come along. Here are a few to ponder:
- Super Glue was invented by scientists attempting to make clear plastic gun sights for Allied soldiers in World War II. What a sticky bit of good luck.
- The popsicle was invented because an 11 year old boy left a mixture of powder-flavored soda pop with a stick in it on the front porch over a cold winter’s night in 1905. Chill out, dude, it’s luck.
- The Slinky came about when an engineer working on a gizmo for Navy battleships accidentally knocked a spring he was working with off his desk, and the spring “walked” across the floor. Luckily for him, he later had a nice walk to his bank.
- Teflon was accidentally discovered when a DuPont scientist was researching non-toxic refrigerants. He came across a product that was slippery and had a high melting point. It took over 20 years for that lucky accident to coat skillets and some politicians.
Let us know at Luxury Homes of Las Vegas what accident you know of that turned out well!
